Dear Members,

The new year is off to a great start with plenty of noteworthy January happenings in DC, including Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (Jan. 16), Winter Restaurant Week (Jan. 16-22), the Washington Auto Show (Jan. 20-29) and the Lunar New Year (begins Jan. 22).

Destination DC has launched its 2023 DEI Business Fellowship, which highlights small businesses from historically underrepresented communities, including people of color, the LGBTQ+ community, veterans, women and disabled persons. Learn more about the program and see a full list of 2023 fellows on washington.org.

As we focus on rebounding, overseas visitation remains one of the most important factors pertaining to economic development. Make sure to register for Global Marketplace on Jan. 18 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center, where you will:

  • Learn about the impact of international markets and the tourism recovery forecast
  • Hear from our teams based in the UK, India, Australia and China

Kind regards,

Elliott L. Ferguson, II
President & CEO, Destination DC
