Doors to Anywhere: Zine & Storytelling Workshop
Inspired by the myriad of magical doors scattered throughout the District, participants will create a mini-zine, using a specific D.C. walk as a narrative backdrop for a personal journey, illustrating their stories with simple drawings and watercolor washes.
Part of Crafty Hours: Walk, Look, Make!
Get off the beaten path and get crafty! Inspired by the guidebook 22 Walks in Washington D.C. That You Must Not Miss and in partnership with co-authors Paige Muller and Andrea Seiger, this hands-on workshop series invites you to slow down, notice the hidden beauty and quirky details of the city, and translate those observations into tangible art.
From the ornate ironwork of historic gates to the mosaic masterpieces of neighborhood walls, each "Crafty Hour" pairs a unique D.C. walking theme with a fun DIY project. You'll learn new skills and leave not just with a piece of art, but with a deeper appreciation for the stories and scenes of Washington, D.C.
