Stop 8: George Washington Memorial Parkway

Although it’s located mostly in Virginia, this scenic byway winds past some of DC’s most famous sites, as well as the charming town of Alexandria on its way to George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate. Bikers, hikers and rollerbladers love the Mount Vernon Trail, which follows the Parkway.
