Job Description
The e-Marketing Manager is responsible for the management, development, implementation and maintenance of the Destination DC's website content, eCommerce, search engine optimization, online and email marketing/promotions and website analytics. This position is required by Destination DC to reach its goals and to fulfill its mission as the destination marketing organization for the nation's capital.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include the following, but are not limited to)
- Create, manage and update fresh website content for all customer segments.
- Maintain and manage calendar of events database.
- Refine and manage email marketing processes. Manage and build online registrations/electronic databases for different customer segments.
- Manage/assist in website expansion and social marketing integration, including interactive features such as podcasts and blogs.
- Export and transfer data from internal databases to external email and Internet vendors/partners. Manage and maximize online map content, functionality and integration.
- Develop search engine marketing strategies, manage and optimize ongoing campaigns, including keyword meta-tagging.
- Develop site strategies and manage URL submissions to search engines and directories to increase web traffic.
- Work in partnership with graphic designer to ensure consistent and appropriate branding, image and content delivery across the entire website.
- Measure and evaluate website using analytic tools, reporting key statistics to management.
- Keep abreast of best Internet and email-based technologies, practices, industry standards and trends. Attend conferences and training as appropriate.
- Deliver quality service to internal and external customers.
- Manage special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience, Competencies & Education
- Two to three (2-3) years of in website and electronic marketing.
- Four-year degree from an academic institution in website development, electronic marketing, marketing or communications required.
- Thorough understanding of email marketing, including email acquisition, management, deployment and reporting.
- Excellent oral and written skills including a command of English grammar, usage and vocabulary.
- Dreamweaver, HTML, JavaScript, CSS and overall web design with knowledge of database-driven applications using PHP. Knowledge of Flash a plus. MS Office Suite experience including Access required
- Thorough working knowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS) for websites (joomla preferred).
- Experience with website server architecture deployed in a two- to three -tier environment.
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading.
- Travel/Hospitality Industry experience a plus.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

This part time and temporary publicist position reports directly to the Manager of Media Relations/Public Relations within the Corcoran Gallery of Art and College of Art + Design's Communications Department. The publicist supports PR projects with potential to increase international awareness and public prominence for the Corcoran Gallery of Art and College of Art + Design.

A Convention Sales Assistant is responsible for assisting the Convention Sales Staff in planning and administering sales policies and programs to foster and promote hotel patronage of all Capital area hotels through the various Destination DC sales programs.

5. Provide file maintenance and upkeep of trace system of the Convention Sales department.
